How HAVSPRO works
HAVS Protection in Action
Any vibrating piece of equipment runs the risk of causing HAVS (hand-arm vibration syndrome) for the operator if the vibration levels they are exposed to aren’t accurately monitored and managed fully.
This is exactly what HAVSPRO does, but how does the tech work?
- Each operator has their own HAVSPRO sensor which is programmed with each users details – this sensor acts as each workers personal piece of PPE.
- Each vibrating tool is fitted with a HAVSPRO holster and pre-programmed with that devices ID details and whether it is measuring HAV or WBV.
- The operator clicks their sensor into the holster on the tool being used and automatically records vibration data as the tool is used – just click and go!
- The operator removes the sensor when they’ve finished using that device and clicks it onto the holster of the next tool used or vehicle if being used to measure whole body vibrations (WBV).
- Throughout the day, personal vibration data is transmitted from the sensor to a beacon then transmitted via roaming mobile data to the HAVSPRO cloud-based reporting platform.
- If the operator reaches their Exposure Action Value (EAV) a light on the sensor flashes amber to show their daily limit of exposure has been reached. A warning is also texted and emailed to pre-determined recipients to allow relevant action to be taken.
- If the operator approaches 90% of their Exposure Limit Value (ELV) a light on the sensor flashes amber and red to show they are close to the maximum daily exposure level and red when the operator reaches 100% of their ELV. Both instances trigger a text and email to be sent out.
- At the end of the day HAVSPRO sensors can be stored ready for the next shift – no need for overnight charging.
Reporting That Reduces HAVS Risk
HAVSPRO has a bespoke dashboard designed to provide easy-access information at a glance.
The HAVSPRO reporting dashboard is fully customisable to allow operators, supervisors and managers the option to see the data that is valuable to them.
The reporting dashboard allows business to:
- monitor the vibration levels each employee is exposed to on a daily basis
- act before vibration levels become to high
- rotate tools to reduce impact and wear and tear
- increase efficiency of tools and resource planning
- receive texts and email alerts when EAV and ELV exposure levels are breached
- track location and usage data for tools
